Mr. Blechschmidt’s notable prior assignments include a global merger integration blueprint and post-deal implementation for a $12+ billion acquisition in industrials. In addition, he achieved a global carve-out blueprint and successful execution to separate the highly integrated division of a family-owned $2+ billion technology enterprise while supporting the establishment of a group services organization. His experience also includes a pre-deal operational and value creation assessment during the acquisition of an iconic sports car original equipment manufacturer by a private equity firm and functional integration considerations for the merger with a portfolio company.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Blechschmidt spent more than six years with EY-Parthenon co-architecting the growth of buy and integrate services across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Within the Transaction Strategy and Execution practice, he co-led the Industrial Products and Mobility sector for acquisition and divesture services. He also spent more than 15 years with Deloitte and as an army officer.

Mr. Blechschmidt earned a diploma in economics and organizational sciences from the University of the German Federal Armed Forces, Munich, with majors in international management, controlling, and statistics. He further earned an officer’s diploma from the German Army and served in deployments abroad where he was awarded with NATO, International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), and combat medals.
