Todd Masser is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Healthcare Industry Group in Chicago. As an expert in health plans and managed care, he has significant executive-level medical management experience in Medicaid, Medicare, and Dual Special Needs health plans.

Mr. Masser’s experience includes clinical and technology operations, medical management, planning, and strategic development, as well as clinical performance improvement across both payer and provider organizations. He brings over 27 years of experience in healthcare and consulting focusing on case management, condition management, utilization management, appeals and grievances, Lean and Six Sigma process improvement, and business strategies that drive value, impact affordability, and address social determinants of health. Throughout his career, he has consistently delivered measurable outcomes, including over $155 million in efficiency and affordability cost savings across various clients and award-winning innovation in social determinants of health programs.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Masser held numerous senior leadership positions for over 18 years across UnitedHealth Group’s businesses UnitedHealthcare and Optum, including Vice President of Enterprise Clinical Services and Chief Information Officer for OptumCare’s Complex Care Management. Additionally, he spent nine years in provider clinical consulting with GE HealthCare. At Optum, he led clinical operations for vendor-delegated care, disease, and utilization management, supporting nine health plan clients and driving over 65% improvement in operational performance. In these roles, he partnered with members of the C-suite, physicians, nurses, and frontline staff as a trusted advisor to design solutions to address their specific challenges and align with long-term organizational goals.

Mr. Masser earned a bachelor’s degree from Saint John’s University, Minnesota. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
