Wei Wong

Mr. Wong brings 15 years of industry experience, with a focus on operational finance in energy. His experience spans financial modeling, budgeting, long-range planning, credit modeling, benchmarking, cost takeout, asset valuation, corporate governance, audit, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems implementation.
Mr. Wong’s notable assignments include: driving a cost takeout initiative that resulted in a 20% reduction in operating costs versus budget; supporting nearly $3 billion of private placements and revolving credit line extensions; and leading seven successful audits for a consolidated enterprise of $6 billion.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Wong spent 10 years with various subsidiaries of Hunt Consolidated, Inc., where he served in a number of capacities, ranging from business development to corporate finance, financial planning, and controllership. He developed deep experience in international upstream and downstream oil and gas operations. Notably, he worked on Hunt’s operated interest in a conventional oil play in Kurdistan and a non-operated interest in Yemen LNG, as well as spending three years living in Peru as a secondee to Peru LNG. Before his time at Hunt, Mr. Wong spent two years working at ConocoPhillips, where he began his career as a Financial Analyst.
Mr. Wong earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in accounting from Baylor University, as well as an MBA from the University of Texas. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Oklahoma. Mr. Wong is a native English and Cantonese speaker and has an intermediate level of proficiency in Spanish.
