Mr. Neilson is a seasoned IT professional specializing in IT carve-outs, with extensive experience in Separation Director and interim CIO roles. He also has a strong track record of assisting private equity portfolio companies and corporates to optimize and leverage their technology landscapes to unlock value creation. He has worked on over 60 transactions across a wide variety of sectors, specializing in IT Day 1 readiness, IT carve-outs and integrations, and IT carve-out/integration due diligence.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Neilson led IT, digital, and operational teams as well as change programs for telecoms, banking, and public sector clients. He held a senior role on the U.K.’s COVID-19 vaccination program, providing hands-on leadership to drive rapid IT developments and implementation in support of the vaccine rollout. 

Mr. Neilson also held senior roles at a U.K. bank to develop its IT strategy and roadmap and lead vendor selection for back-office applications. He also served as Program Director for the end-to-end delivery of a £500+ million telecommunications outsourcing deal for two U.K. national mobile telephony networks.

Mr. Neilson earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Lancaster University and a master’s degree in finance from Lancaster University Management School. He holds Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, PRINCE2, MSP (Managing Successful Programmes), P3O, and TOGAF accreditations.
