Nathan Ray

With more than 20 years of experience across healthcare and life sciences data, information technology, operations and consulting, Mr. Ray advises industry and private equity executives to de-risk, differentiate, enhance and scale their companies and platforms through pre-close, post-close, exit preparation and strategic transformation objectives.
Working with many top, emerging and middle-market private equity organizations, Mr. Ray has supported thousands of unique processes and hundreds of clients through the immense growth of the sector. He drives industry leading teams to continually improve the quality and value of advisory by building relevant and insightful subject matter depth across high volume acquisitive areas (specialty providers, DSO and RCM), as well as new and evolving niches in multiple sub-sectors of provider, payer, life sciences, insurance and HCIT. Beyond private equity, Mr. Ray has worked to bring these tools to large strategics across payer, provider and life sciences to build out or retool their M&A capabilities.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Ray spent 10 years with West Monroe Partners in Chicago as a partner and national lead of the Healthcare and Life Sciences mergers and acquisitions practice. He defined, built and grew the strategy, sales and talent behind this practice, achieving a compound annual growth rate of over 30%.
Previously, as an operating and technology executive with Xerox/ACS and Discovery Health, Mr. Ray oversaw a unique blend of responsibilities, from business process outsourcing efforts to Medicaid Management Information System standups, as well as claims-related artificial intelligence and analytics research (PARC, XRC US and France). As a technologist, he led multiple IT organizations, including product development, analytics, compliance and support. While working across Xerox’s portfolio of acquired healthcare payment integrity, cost avoidance, BPO and TPA solutions and clients, Mr. Ray won awards for both cost savings and innovation.
Mr. Ray earned a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and an MBA from Wright State University.
