Population health focuses on the health outcomes of a group of individuals, and its distribution within the group. A&M believes a focus on the entire population, including the 50 percent accounting for only 3 percent of costs, results in a diffusion of effort. Our definition is focused on the 5-10 percent of the population accounting for the 43-68 percent of health-related costs.
