State R&D Credits Overview

Does your state offer an R&D tax credit? 

Many states offer R&D tax credits.  Some are structured similarly to the federal R&D tax credit, using the same criteria to identify qualified research activities (QRA's) and qualified research expenditures (QRE's).  Meanwhile, other states are the exception and have structured their credits to be unique to their statutes. As a result, the amount of credit, due dates, usability, and claim methods vary significantly by each state.
