Mauricio Rivera

Mr. Rivera has more than 15 years of experience in finance and restructuring, advising clients on financial planning and forecasting, capital budgeting, cash forecasting, implementing cost reduction plans, and developing and implementing reorganization plans. His expertise spans various industries, including technology, telecoms, energy, consumer products, real estate, and retail.
Mr. Rivera has been involved in numerous complex operational and financial restructurings. Most notably, he advised Hornblower Holdings, a sponsor-backed global leader in transportation and experiences, in its prearranged Chapter 11 case. Other notable engagements include Wheel Pros, a leading designer, marketer, and distributor of aftermarket wheels and automotive accessories; Washington Prime Group, a shopping center real estate investment trust; Breitburn Energy Partners, an independent oil and gas developer; and Westmoreland Coal Company, one of the largest independent coal producers in the U.S.
Mr. Rivera has advised companies in complex, high-profile situations with cross-border implications, including: NII Holdings, a mobile communications provider in Central and South America; and Constellation Oil Services, a Brazilian offshore drilling services company. He has also assisted both publicly traded and privately or sponsor-held companies with in-court and out-of-court restructuring situations.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Rivera spent four years with GoldSilver.com, a retail bullion brokerage. As Managing Director, he led enterprise-wide financial operations, including treasury management, budgeting, forecasting, and planning for an online business with $100 million in annual revenue.
Mr. Rivera earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California Santa Barbara and an MBA (finance and decision sciences concentration) from Loyola Marymount University, California. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder and a member of the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors.
