Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Jones was an investment banker for almost three decades. He spent 20 years at JP Morgan, where he initially specialized in leveraged lending and led the firm’s first LBO loan and private equity investment. He later became head of Corporate Lending for the U.S. and a member of the firm’s credit policy committee. In 1991, He joined the Mergers and Acquisitions Department and then became head of four industry groups: telecommunications, media, high-tech and aerospace / defense, with responsibility for both investment banking and mergers and acquisitions. He represented McDonnell Douglas in its merger with The Boeing Company. Moreover, he was also a Managing Director in the Telecom Groups at Salomon Brothers and at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he had senior coverage responsibility for both large cap and emerging telecommunications companies.

Mr. Jones earned a bachelor’s degree, with highest honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, having studied at Oxford University during the prior summer, and a master’s in business administration at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he later served on the Board of Visitors for 15 years. He is also a recipient of Kenan-Flagler’s Distinguished Alumnus Award. In addition, he earned a master’s degree in American Studies from Columbia University.

Mr. Jones has served on the Board of Visitors of both the undergraduate and MBA programs at the University of North Carolina, the boards of both Outward Bound U.S.A. and New York City Outward Bound and the board of the Gladney Center, a national adoption agency in Fort Worth. He also has served as Treasurer and head of the governing body of the Reformed Church of Bronxville, NY.

Mr. Jones completed the Corporate Finance Management course at Harvard Business School and has been a guest lecturer during “M&A Day” at Harvard’s Advanced Management Program. He also was a guest lecturer each year for a decade at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. For nine years, Mr. Jones served on the board of Fuel-Tech, Inc., a public company which helps electric utilities reduce air-polluting emissions. He currently serves on the board of Camplex, Inc., a private medical device company, and Star Mountain Capital, LLC, a credit fund which lends money to small businesses.
