SITUATION

• Following a series of market headwinds including Brexit, global supply chain pressures and the Covid-19 pandemic, the Group launched an equity raise to fund its continued operations. However due to market conditions, a successful fundraise could not be achieved.

A&M ROLE AND OUTCOME

• A&M was engaged to establish the short-term liquidity position, manage a strategic review process and to support a wind-down scenario plan in the event that further investment was not forthcoming.​

• The strategic review identified interest from trade and financial investors, with Universal Matter Inc identified as the preferred bidder. Following regulatory approval under the National Security & Investments Act 2021, a solvent sale of the Group’s main trading subsidiary was completed, avoiding insolvency altogether.​
