BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

Yorkshire based manufacturer of decorating sundries for the home improvement, DIY and trade sectors, with revenue of approximately £23m and nearly 150 years of brand heritage.

SITUATION

• Bartoline had experienced challenging trading conditions since 2021 due to increased cost inflation which it was unable to pass to customers. This subsequently resulted in liquidity challenges.
  The Company had approximately £4m of senior debt facilities.
   

A&M ROLE AND OUTCOME

• In November 2024, A&M was engaged to conduct an accelerated M&A process. The Company was widely marketed to financial investors and trade parties as part of a 4-week sales process. 
• Following interest from both the trade and financial investors, a brand consolidator (Paramount Retail Group) was identified as the preferred bidder. 
• The transaction completed via a pre-packaged administration sale, including the TUPE transfer of 90 employees.
