Amazon, JP Morgan and Berkshire Hathaway: Disruption, Incrementalism or Both

Healthcare spending by employers is projected to increase 51.1 percent from $1,040 billion in 2017 to $1,571 billion in 2026, reflecting a 4.7 percent compound annual rate of growth. Combined, these three companies have 1.15 million employees and an estimated 2.3 million covered lives. Scale purchasing alone is insufficient to generate a sustainable reduction in healthcare costs.
