A&M Conversation With: U.S. Healthcare Delivery System
On this episode of A&M Conversation With, Managing Director Dr. David Gruber sits down with Managing Director Stuart McLean to discuss the U.S. healthcare delivery system in of terms cost, effectiveness and the barriers to the coordinated care delivery system.
Part I – Patient Care (Delivery) Transformation
The U.S. healthcare delivery system is inefficient (expensive), ineffective (high mortality rate) and often results in an inadequate care experience.
Contributors to the dysfunction include several well-known factors such as fee-for-service reimbursement, a focus on acute intervention, care fragmentation, facility-centricity and limited patient (caregiver) engagement.
