My undergraduate degree in accounting provided me with a strong foundation in financial analysis, data interpretation and business operations. These skills have been instrumental in analyzing financial statements and understanding client data from an accounting framework. Additionally, my master's degree in information systems operations management equipped me with technical expertise in areas such as database management, process optimization and project management. The combination of accounting and information systems has gifted me with well-rounded skill sets, combining financial acumen with technological proficiency, enabling me to tackle complex business challenges in my career.
What led you to pursue your chosen field of study?
I have always been intrigued by the intersection of business and technology. Growing up in a digital age, I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of technology in revolutionizing industries and driving innovation. This, coupled with my natural inclination towards problem-solving and analyzing data, motivated me to pursue a career that combines accounting and information systems.
Why did you choose to intern at A&M?
I interned at A&M because of its stellar industry reputation and commitment to fostering professional growth. A&M is known for its innovative approach to solving complex business challenges, and I wanted to be a part of that dynamic environment. Furthermore, A&M allowed me to work on diverse projects across different industries, which aligned perfectly with my desire to gain practical experience and expand my skill set.
Why did you choose to join A&M full-time?
Having interned at A&M and experiencing the company's culture, work ethic and commitment to excellence, I was convinced it was the ideal place to begin my professional journey. The collaborative nature of the teams, the emphasis on personal growth and development and the opportunities for advancement were all factors that attracted me to join A&M on a full-time basis.

I knew that by joining A&M, I would be surrounded by talented individuals who would inspire me to push the boundaries of my capabilities and contribute meaningfully to the firm's success and my own.
How do you stay current with industry trends and developments, and what resources do you rely on for ongoing learning and growth?
During my free time, I utilize a variety of online and mobile platforms to stay connected and informed. I regularly follow industry-specific publications like The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times and Bloomberg for insights into mergers and acquisitions (M&A) deals, market trends and expert analysis. Online communities and forums like LinkedIn and Fishbowl provide opportunities to engage with industry professionals, ask questions and learn from their experiences. Within A&M, I participate in company trainings and knowledge-sharing initiatives to stay updated with market trends and recent transactions. These diverse platforms enhance my knowledge and keep me connected in the dynamic world of M&A.
What advice would you give to university students looking to work in consulting?
Attend company mixers, networking sessions and campus recruiting events as early as possible—ideally during freshman year! By the time your junior or senior year rolls around, you’ll be a pro at talking to recruiters and will nail your interviews.
In hindsight, what advice would you give to your college self or other recent graduates about navigating the transition from school to work?
I highly recommend slowing down and enjoying each phase of life. Student life differs from early adulthood, which differs from the next phase and the next one. There is no rush. Make sure to appreciate the present moments because one day you will look back with a frown or a smile. Make sure you end up with the latter!
What are your career goals and aspirations for the next few years?
I would like to become specialized in an industry and become an expert in the knowledge base that surrounds it. We see “under the hood" of countless businesses in accounting due diligence. As a result, we can gain in-depth, insightful knowledge from one deal that can help a client on another deal of a similar business model. This is where the value is truly added.
What are the most important qualities for success in your field, and how do you cultivate those qualities in yourself?
I believe that keeping a strong will and mindset is key to success in any field. Success is subjective, and everyone will have their own definition of success. My advice is to figure out what success means to you and use strong determination to make that dream a reality. It can be done!
Can you tell us about a mentor or advisor who has influenced your career development, and what did you learn from them?
My dearest mentor is a recruiter I met while at my alma mater. Over the course of my career as an undergrad student, a master’s student and now a young adult, I have received invaluable guidance from my mentor that, without her, I would not be where I am today. One of the most impactful lessons I learned from my mentor is always to spread happiness to others.
How do you approach networking and building professional relationships, and what tips would you offer to others starting out?
One lesson: always follow up. This is the key. Following up after a conversation is the best way to ensure a continuing professional relationship. I recommend jotting some notes about the conversation that was had with a professional so that later in the day, when you follow up, you can easily remember personalized talking points.
What's your favorite hobby or activity outside of work, and how did you get into it?
I love to DJ! I am an avid listener of music, especially house music. I also enjoy playing the piano.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
I already have a superpower. Every human has a superpower. I believe it is your duty to figure out yours and utilize it daily to provide value to others in the unique way you can. My superpower is my emotional quotient. Like some have high IQs, I have a high EQ and, as a result, can navigate social landscapes efficiently. I use it every day in my personal life and my work life.
What are some fun facts about you?
I once saved a foreign family on a small boat whose anchor was stuck on the sea floor by swimming down about 15 feet and disengaging the anchor from a large boulder. All the while enduring a jellyfish sting on my left foot. They did not speak English; communication was limited to hand gestures and noises.
