Mr. Barrette has provided operational advisory services for pre- and post-acquisition private equity portfolio companies. He served as interim Chief Operating Officer for a multi-billion dollar vision care services firm and developed an investment playbook and technology roadmap to scale a regional, 400-provider orthopedics health system leader, as well as performed operational and technology due diligence services for private equity and corporate business development clients.
Mr. Barrette provided revenue cycle interim management for a regional health system that expanded to 23 states and $1 billion in collections via acquisition over the span of 18 months. He drove the operational and technology integration strategy and execution activities for the merger of two managed care behavioral health benefit management companies, as well as provided pre and post-acquisition technology and operations due diligence and system integration planning for mergers of two large vision benefit management organizations.
Additionally, Mr. Barrette advised on operations and technology for a pre and post-acquisition merger of two large multi-state home health companies. He facilitated the design and launch of an integrated health management NewCo Medicaid special needs plan, as well as led the business operations and technology development of a member-owned and operated health plan, growing the plan to $1 billion in revenue and over 200 thousand members.
Mr. Barrette formally spent eight years with CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield in executive business and technology leadership roles. He started his career in consulting with Sapient (now SapientRazorfish) and Keane (now Keane NTT).
Mr. Barrette earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. Mr. Barrette is Board Chair for Social Enterprise Greenhouse which creates positive social and economic impacts by supporting innovative social entrepreneurs and enterprises with the tools and networks they need to thrive.
