In his career he has held various senior management positions, including CRO, CFO and CEO, playing a major role in various restructuring processes in large companies, with annual revenues over USD 500 million.
In his professional experience he developed a deep knowledge of corporate finance, treasury, financial planning, cash flow, risk management and hedging, tax planning, taxes, accounting, controllership and insurance.
His experience as a company leader encompasses companies under processes of performance improvement, financial restructuring, operating and/or business wind-down. He has been responsible for the management and execution of these processes in a variety of companies, mainly those in financial difficulties or in judicial recovery processes (U.S. Chapter 11 equivalent), especially in agribusiness: sugarcane sector, grain and seed producers, and trading companies.
Mr. Lima also has experience in sell side processes, due diligences and crisis management. He has also worked managing companies with complex, conflictive corporate structures and negotiating with large landowners.
His experience in the sugar and ethanol industry prior to Alvarez & Marsal includes passages as Financial Manager or CFO of companies such as Grupo Moema, Cerradinho and Aralco.
In addition, he also acted as Treasury Manager at Coomex, assisting in the sale process for BTG Pactual, and CFO at Compass, two electric power trading companies, in both cases restructuring their administrative areas and raising the level of corporate governance.
Mr. Lima also served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Copersucar in 2013, one of the largest global sugar and ethanol trading companies, and has extensive experience in Brazilian banks as a trader of interest rate derivatives, exchange rates and commodities and derivatives futures .
Mr. Lima earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Universidade Federal de São Carlos, a degree in business administration from Universidade Mackenzie, post graduation degree in derivatives from BM&F and MBA in Finance with an emphasis on Controllership and Auditing from FGV.
He is fluent in English and has a proficient of Spanish.
Currently he also acts as Coordinator on the Bankruptcy Law Chamber at Ibrademp – Brazilian Institute of Business Law.
