His primary areas of expertise are in finance and risk management, including regulatory issues.
Before joining A&M, Mr. Geuss spent more than two years with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, serving as a Partner and finance expert, responsible for Finance and Risk in their Financial Services Competence Center. He advised leading German banks on realigning and implementing the necessary adjustments to meet stricter capital requirements and increased regulation.
Earlier, he served as Managing Director, Global Head of Finance with HSH Nordbank AG, in Hamburg, where he co-led an EU restructuring plan and the legal separation of a "bad bank." Before that, he was Managing Director and Head of Accounting, Regulatory and Tax with Deutsche Postbank AG in Bonn. Notable responsibilities there included: supporting the IPO process in 2004, leading the Basel II program, restructuring of several banking subsidiaries, advising on the sale of the insurance units of the Postbank Group and advising on the sale of BHW Bank.
Mr. Geuss earned a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance from the Banking Academy in Berlin. He has served on the Board of HSH N Sec, Luxembourg, the Supervisory Board of HSH Real Estate AG, Hamburg and BCB AG, Bonn. He was a member of the Accounting Interpretations Committee of the Accounting Standards Committee of Germany and the tax committee for the Association of German Banks (BdB) and the Accounting Commission of the Association of German Public Banks (VÖB).
He has also lectured at the Banking Academy in Berlin and Bonn on risk and banking policies. A German native, he is fluent in German and English.
