Tom Andrus is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Private Equity Services practice in Dallas, Texas. He focuses on C-level interim management and performance improvement initiatives for private equity-owned companies in high growth, highly-leveraged and distressed environments. He has experience in a wide variety of industries including retail services, business services and financial services.

With more than 35 years of professional experience in financial and executive management, banking and consulting, Mr. Andrus has deep experience in all aspects of M&A, divestitures, integrations and consolidations. His expertise includes raising, renegotiating and restructuring debt and equity capital, profitability enhancement, cash flow and working capital management and strategic and financial planning.  He has successfully led internal financial and operational reorganizations and the development of shared services functions.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Andrus served as a C-level executive for multiple private-equity owned businesses in the fitness club, car care and business services industry segments His roles as a CEO and CFO include work for a private equity-owned powersports dealership consolidator where he led the company through a restructure during the recent recession followed by a successful sale process. He also served as the CFO for a high growth private equity-owned technical support and customer service outsourcing company. In this role, he played an integral role in M&A activity as well as a successful company sale process.

Additional CFO roles include work for a private equity-owned art and specialty theater company where he was part of a management team that successfully led the company through a Chapter 11 bankruptcy and of a public commercial mortgage real estate investment trust where he completed an initial public offering.

Mr. Andrus began his career at a predecessor of Bank of America in Houston, Texas.  Early in his career, he was a manager in the management consulting practice at KPMG where he focused on strategic and financial planning, profitability enhancement and reorganization projects for commercial and financial services clients. Mr. Andrus earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Trinity University and an MBA from Texas A&M University.
