Tim Waters is a Managing Director and Supply Chain Lead with Alvarez & Marsal in London with 30 years of supply chain and operations transformation experience, 16 of those in advising corporate businesses worldwide.

Mr. Waters has worked in operational management positions in consumer electronics, automotive, healthcare / pharmaceuticals and IT and with clients across a range of industries, including fast-moving consumer goods, food and beverages, industrial, aerospace, energy, retail, telecom and media.

Before joining A&M, Mr. Waters spent five years as a Director with KPMG Management Consulting in London, where he worked with companies on a variety of supply chain and operational engagements. He worked with FTSE 100-clients globally and has country experience in China, Japan, Russia, South Africa, the U.S., Australia, Singapore, as well as mainland Europe.

He led engagements involving cost optimization, operational strategy, operational performance improvement, operating model design, location and network optimization, warehouse and distribution optimization, IT systems, multi-channel trading, routes to market and ecommerce strategy. Mr. Waters initiated and developed a cloud-computing proposition involving leading edge supply chain technology in collaboration with a U.S. based third-party software business across retail and consumer goods. He also spent more than 10 years in focused boutique supply chain and IT consulting practices in the U.K., where he managed more than 12 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) IT systems.

Previously, Mr. Waters ran supply chain activities at Panasonic’s European Television Manufacturing, and was Transformation Project Manager at Warner Lambert Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals, resulting in a Class A accreditation for the business – one of a small number in Europe. In these roles, he had responsibility for product management and planning, sales and operations planning, inventory management, service level, distribution, as well as the management of teams.

He started his career in the automotive sector and held operational roles with Tier-1 auto suppliers in the U.K. for more than eight years.

Mr. Waters is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (FCILT), a member of The Institute of Operational Management (MIOM) and is currently studying for an MSC in international supply chain and logistics.
