Mr. Reid brings more than 20 years of experience acting in statutory restructuring appointments and court-sanctioned mandates in Canada, including engagements as a monitor under the Companies Creditors' Arrangement Act (CCAA) and all formal insolvency appointments under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (Canada). He also has extensive experience serving as a financial adviser to corporate debtors and boards, senior secured lenders and governments.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Reid was a Partner with KPMG LLP in Canada, where he served as Partner in Charge of Restructuring in Alberta for the past five years.
Mr. Reid has significant industry experience in the oil and gas production and energy services sectors, having acted in numerous operating receiverships and CCAA turnarounds involving going concern divestitures. He was most recently lead partner responsible for the restructuring and sale of the businesses of an energy services income trust and lead partner in the restructuring and eventual sale of a polyethylene pipe manufacturer that had operations in B.C., Alberta and Ontario. His industry background also includes agriculture, real estate development and construction companies.
Mr. Reid earned a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Calgary and holds professional designations as a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional and a Canadian Trustee in Bankruptcy. He is a member of the Insolvency Institute of Canada and INSOL.
