Thomas Houlihan is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Valuation Services practice in Atlanta.

Mr. Houlihan has 20 years of experience providing clients with guidance on engagements involving mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, strategic planning, dispute resolution, as well as legal and regulatory proceedings.

Mr. Houlihan’s experience encompasses a broad range of industries, with a particular focus on topics involving power generation and delivery. Over the past five years alone, he has led teams and assisted clients with the evaluation and execution of over $5 billion in transactions involving some of the world’s largest energy companies, as well as mid‐sized generation and distribution companies and energy startups.

Mr. Houlihan has provided expert testimony and litigation support for matters involving commercial damages, business valuations, accounting investigations, and contract disputes. He has worked on numerous high-profile dispute assignments for clients and has provided expert support and testimony in federal and state courts, for arbitrations, and for FERC and state regulatory proceedings.

Prior to joining A&M in 2017, Mr. Houlihan was a senior member of the corporate finance and investment banking practice at Navigant Consulting and the leader of the North American energy industry segment for the practice. Mr. Houlihan also has prior experience in corporate development positions with firms focused on merchant power and power trading.

Mr. Houlihan earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Creighton University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Owen School at Vanderbilt University. He is a member of the Energy Bar Association and a candidate member of the American Society of Appraisers.
