Mr. Greenberg brings more than 40 years of experience in commercial lending, both as a commercial banker and as an expert who has testified in more than 100 cases in federal, various state courts, and federal bankruptcy court. He received his credit training in New York and Japan at a major money center bank. As a commercial lender, Mr. Greenberg has experience in international lending, corporate lending, financial institutions lending, middle market commercial lending and commercial real estate lending, both as a handling officer and as a manager of a corporate lending division of a bank. In his management role, he served as a member of the Senior Loan Committee of a bank, as well as a designated senior credit officer, and as a manager of a loan workout department.
Mr. Greenberg's commercial lending experience also includes loan portfolio management, lending policy management, compliance with commercial lending industry standards, compliance with federal bank regulatory requirements and director level responsibilities as it relates to regulatory requirements.
In 1986, Mr. Greenberg established his own consulting company as a private banker, assisting borrowers in managing their lending relationships with financial institutions and working with borrowers to restructure loans with existing or alternative lenders. In 1991, he began expert witness work representing lenders and borrowers and to date has been involved in issues that range from loan commitment and loan funding; loan default; interest rate issues in bankruptcy; lender and/or borrower conduct and standards of care in commercial lending; loan guaranty; credit administration and deposit account; loan forbearance; loan fraud; credit policy; bank director and bank officer conduct; loan and deposit account administration issues, good faith and fair dealing issues and fiduciary issues.
Mr. Greenberg has a bachelor's degree in political science and a masters degree in international relations. With his extensive background in credit and non-lending issues in lender liability, he has also published articles on bank lending matters relating to lender liability and has made numerous presentations to the lending community on this subject.
