Stephen Potter is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal's Transaction Advisory Group in New York, specializing in buyer's and seller's financial due diligence for private equity and corporate clients.

His engagements cross the consumer products, retail, packaging and manufacturing industries.Mr. Potter has worked on numerous transactions valued from $10 million to over $5 billion.

Mr. Potter's experience includes identifying deal issues, the strength of commercial operations, quality of earnings, normalized working capital, quality of assets and debt-like exposures (on- and off-balance sheets). He has also worked on carve-out transactions, IPO readiness assessments and private equity portfolio company monitoring.

Before joining A&M, he spent six years with KPMG's transaction services and audit groups. There, his transaction clients included strategic corporate acquirers, as well as a number of large and mid-market private equity funds.

Mr. Potter earned a bachelor's degree in classics from Davidson College and a master's degree in accounting from Wake Forest University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in North Carolina and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
