Currently, Mr. Vansteenkiste is advising a large Dutch construction company on their business plan, cash management practices, and negotiations with their banks. Mr. Vansteenkiste also currently serves as a non-Executive Board Member of Thiememeulenhoff, a leading Dutch educational publishing company.
Mr. Vansteenkiste is an experienced senior interim executive. Key engagements include: CTO of a €160m EBITDA Benelux/French retailing concern where he ran day-to-day operations resulting in €30m+ cash performance improvement, CEO of Vion Food Group, where he led a €6.5bn livestock slaughtering business culminating in a €50m+ cash improvement; CRO of NS Hispeed where he led negotiations with the Dutch government resulting in a €1.2bn concession fee reduction; COO of SGD, a €650m glass bottle maker; CRO and board member of Schefenacker PLC, an €800 million supplier of rear-view mirrors; and CEO of Diam, a global manufacturer of retail displays.
In addition to his current advisory mandate, Mr. Vansteenkiste has completed many advisory engagements such as: Advisor to Edcon, a major South African retailer; Restructuring Advisor to an Asian scheduled airline where he implemented a turnaround plan culminating in a $74m performance improvement; Restructuring Advisor to Dorint, a 100 property hotel chain owned by Accor; advisor to the creditors of Macintosh Retail group; and advisor to a €300m packaging supplier where he developed a working capital reduction plan.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Vansteenkiste worked for Six Flags as General Manager of Six Flags Belgium and Vice President of Six Flags California. He also worked for Taco Bell as Finance Manager for a 600-store region and Operational Market Manager for a 32 store market.
Mr. Vansteenkiste holds a BA from the University of California, an MBA from the University of Michigan and masters from the University of Antwerp. He is fluent in English, French, Dutch and Spanish.
