Mr. Vansteenkiste is an experienced Senior Interim Executive having served in several C-Suite roles of large international companies. He recently served as Interim CEO of Intertoys, a 500 store, €450 million revenue Benelux independent toy retailer where he developed a turnaround plan and managed the business day-to-day. He served as Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) of a 1,200 store, €160 million EBITDA Benelux / French retailing concern where he ran day-to-day operations and implemented operational improvement initiatives resulting in a €30 million cash performance improvement, including the negotiation and implementation of social plans in the Netherlands and France. Mr. Vansteenkiste served as Interim CEO of Vion, where he led a €6.5 billion revenue livestock slaughtering business through a difficult transition culminating in the survival of the business
Mr. Vansteenkiste also has a strong track record as an advisor. He served as Restructuring Advisor to a leading Dutch infrastructure contractor as well as an Asian scheduled airline which led to a $74 million performance improvement. He was also an advisor to a hotel chain and a major South African retailer, where he led an operating plan review and improved cash management practices.
Prior to A&M, Mr. Vansteenkiste worked for Mobistar, a leading Belgian telecom operator, served as General Manager of Six Flags Belgium and Vice President of Six Flags California responsible for food and beverage retailing, as well as Finance & Market Manager for Taco Bell.
Mr. Vansteenkiste earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, an MBA from the University of Michigan and an executive master’s degree in interim management from the University of Antwerp. He is fluent in English, French, Dutch and Spanish.
