Simon Evetts is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Performance Improvement in London.

Mr. Evetts helps retailers understand what business capabilities they need to enhance in order to become a market leading omni-channel retailer, and how they can take advantage of the opportunities presented by digital to more effectively deliver their business strategy while improving growth and profit. His experience includes websites, social media, mobile, marketing, supply chain, buying and merchandising, fulfilment and contact centres.

Mr. Evetts is one of the pioneers and thought leaders in digital transformation having spent more than 16 years helping retailers to respond to the opportunities and challenges presented by digital and omni-channel retailing. He has helped many of the UK’s top retailers grow significantly through multi-channel led, customer focused transformation of operations and technology.

Mr. Evetts has worked with and consulted to over 100 leading companies including most major UK retailers such as Tesco, Asda, B&Q, Debenhams, Homebase, Argos & Arcadia, as well as International retailers such as Delhaize, H&M and V&D.  He has also worked with brands such as Burberry, Bulgari, Sony and Clarks, as well as B2B organisations such as Screwfix, 20:20 Mobile, Wolseley, Rexel, Ingram Micro and Norgren.  Simon has helped a number of private equity firms to assess potential acquisitions and to develop and implement strategies to improve businesses they already own.

Most recently Mr. Evetts has worked with two of the UK’s largest retailers to help them deliver a truly integrated omni-channel proposition allowing customers to choose any delivery location including stores and drop off points at a time of their choosing, irrespective of where the stock is being sourced from (to include store stock, 3rd parties, warehouses and in transit) and to consolidate all products into a single delivery. He has also recently worked with two other leading UK retailers to deliver an improved e-commerce proposition to support international rollout and greater exploitation of the potential of mobile devices.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Evetts spent four  years with IBM Global Business Services where he was a Partner responsible for Smarter Commerce (IBM’s digital offerings covering Buying, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain and Customer Service). His role included thought leadership, development of the Smarter Commerce proposition for the UK market and leading of major client advisory and technology implementation engagements

Previously, Mr. Evetts spent 10 years at Javelin Group, Europe’s leading specialist multi-channel retail consultancy, where his final role was Chief Technology Officer responsible for all technology strategy, consulting and implementation. Over the course of 10 years he built this significant practice from scratch and was responsible for a significant proportion of the company’s P&L.

Mr. Evetts earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from UEA and is a regular speaker on digital and omni-channel retailing.
