He specializes in indirect tax. His primary areas of concentration are tax compliance, dealing with tax and governmental authorities, preparation of tax rulings, special regimes and incentives requests, indirect tax recovery and monetization procedures, new project’s tax simulations and projections.
With more than 17 years of experience with the Brazilian Tax System, Mr. Otero has lead various tax projects including but not limited to tax planning, operational and corporate reorganizations, tax due diligence, greenfield and capital projects and Fiscal Digital Bookkeeping and Electronic Invoice “Nota Fiscal” implementations.
Mr. Otero has worked with clients across various industries, including life science, automotive, beverage and foods, telecommunications, energy, retail and service.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Otero spent 10 years with KPMG serving his last seven years in the Indirect Tax Department in São Paulo where he most recently served as Executive Senior Manager. At EY, Mr. Otero coordinated more than15 Managers and Senior Managers and was the Lead for the Life Sciences and Chemical sectors in the Indirect Tax area.
Mr. Otero earned bachelor’s degrees in business administration and foreign trade from Mackenzie University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Trevisan Business School, both in São Paulo, Brazil. Rodrigo is a certified accountant in Brazil.
Portuguese is Mr. Otero’s native language and he is fluent in English and Spanish.
