Paul H. Barry is a Managing Director and Co-Head of North America Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions, Alvarez & Marsal Transaction Advisory Group.

Mr. Barry brings over 30 years of experience specializing in origination, development, and execution of global growth initiatives. His expertise includes development of corporate strategy, transaction advisory, execution of complex M&A, and value maximization of strategic alternatives.

Mr. Barry previously served as a C-suite executive for a number of industry-leading Fortune 500 companies in various strategic, finance, and operational roles. He has led and participated in the execution of over $100 billion of landmark strategic transformations and corporate M&A.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Barry was Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Public Infrastructure Partners LLC (PIP) and led the company’s operating platform of highly experienced industry executives with expertise in acquiring, operating, and maximizing investor returns in regulated and unregulated power markets, midstream gas, renewables, and mining. PIP's partners and clients included leading corporations and private equity, infrastructure, and pension funds in North America and Europe.

Mr. Barry was Group Executive and President of Duke Energy Americas, a major wholesale power generation, trading and marketing operation, and commercial business leading its restructuring through the divestiture of non-regulated western and northeastern U.S. natural gas-fired power plants (11,600 megawatts) and substantially all of its commodity hedge book.

Mr. Barry served as CFO of Pepco Holdings addressing liquidity and funding needs while reducing commodity risk during the 2008 financial crisis, a period of significant capital, credit, and energy market disruption and volatility.

Mr. Barry served as CFO of Kinross Gold Corp. during a period of unprecedented gold mining industry volatility. He developed and executed significant balance sheet realignment and liquidity objectives on both parent and subsidiary levels through a comprehensive capital markets access initiative and raised over $5 billion in new capital.

Mr. Barry created and implemented the de novo strategic vision of Hydro One, transforming the company from a regional electric transmission and distribution crown corporation (100% owned by the Province of Ontario) to a fast-growing investor-owned integrated electric and natural gas utility with a global footprint.

Mr. Barry earned a bachelor of science in finance, magna cum laude from Northeastern University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
