Paul Benz is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Performance Improvement in Atlanta.

He brings more than 30 years of executive level management experience, serving as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Senior Operating Executive for some of the world’s leading public and private companies. He is a proven leader and excels at leading people through change management and transformational opportunities.

Most recently at A&M, Mr. Benz served as Chief Transformation Officer (CTO), responsible for information technology and the transformation of the commercial organization of a $380 million International Manufacturer of retail merchandising, point-of-purchase displays, open service systems, fixtures and floor stands. He also served as interim CIO of a $100 million, 120-store, National Optical Retailer where he developed a strategic plan to accommodate four-year, trebling of store operations.

Additionally, Mr. Benz served as CIO of Boars Head Brand where he led the IT restructuring efforts after a failed enterprise-wide systems implementation for this private, multi-billion-dollar revenue, 3,000 employee, multi-location manufacturer and distributor of premium branded delicatessen meats, cheeses and condiments. 

Prior to this, Mr. Benz served as Vice President (VP) of Finance and Information Technology with Tropicana Chilled Direct Store Delivery (CDSD), PepsiCo where he managed the finance, information technology and shared service teams in the successful start-up and expansion of this $340 million business unit. He later served as VP of Merger Integration with PepsiCo where he planned and executed the successful integration of PepsiCo’s $13 billion Quaker Oats acquisition with Tropicana Products and Frito Lay North America. He successfully transitioned mission-critical business processes and information systems in 150 days without business disruption while exceeding worldwide year one merger savings targets by $35 million.

Mr. Benz later served as VP of Sales Operations, Shared Services with Tropicana. He created the Tropicana Products Sales Operations and Customer Financial Services Center of Excellence in the achievement of industry-leading consumer products, financial performance and customer service results. He successfully generated a $2.4 million increase in cash flow and $40 million improvement in trade spending efficiency.

Mr. Benz earned both his MBA and bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University.
