Nick Harvey is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal in London in the firm’s Private Equity Performance Improvement practice.

He brings 15 years of international business management experience including advising and implementing performance improvement and cost reduction programmes for major corporations across a wide range of industry sectors. His primary areas of concentration are Operational Due Diligence, Value Creation, and Carve-outs and Separations.

Recent projects have included the restructuring of the European supply chain for a global consumer products manufacturer, buy-side operational due diligence on a global beauty products business, equipment risk assessment for an aerospace component manufacturer, operational improvement assessment of a eastern European beer brewer, and carve-out planning and value creation work for a global foods business.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Harvey spent nearly 3 years with Deloitte in London as a member of the Post Merger Integration team. During this time he performed Operational Due Diligence projects for both Private Equity and Corporate clients in a variety of product offerings from buy-side and sell-side due diligence, synergy review, independent business reviews, and separation planning. This work typically included evaluating the historical and forecast cost base, target operating model, and opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Mr. Harvey was a Project Leader in the R&D group at Radiometer ApS in Denmark, a medical devices operating company of the Danaher Corporation. He was tasked with implementing the Danaher Business System, a derivation of the Toyota Production System, into the R&D department and bringing lean methodologies into day-to-day operations. A key focus of this work was to upscale production of a lab-on-chip product while reducing process waste.

Prior to Danaher, Mr. Harvey spent 5 years in factory operations in the automotive and metal working industries, including building and running a factory in China as part of a start-up company producing trailers for the world market. He was responsible for the design and construction of the facility, management of more than 200 workers, and day-to-day operations and production of trailers. He has also spent significant time in automotive and heavy industrial goods factories in the U.S. and China providing chemical management services, including 1 year as a Site Manager at an SKF Bearing facility in the U.S.

Mr. Harvey earned a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Lafayette College in the U.S. and holds an MBA from London Business School with a concentration in Change Management. He is a dual U.S./U.K. national.
