Nate Dwyer is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Performance Improvement in San Francisco.

He specializes in value creation for corporations facing shareholder activism. His primary areas of concentration are risk mitigation, due diligence, project leadership and handling time-sensitive, complex transactions.

With more than 13 years of financial services and investment banking experience, Mr. Dwyer has a proven track record of bringing process, resources and focus to optimize returns and reduce risk for his clients. He is highly familiar with managing complex stakeholder dynamics working with management, the Board and Activist Investors.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Dwyer was a Founding Partner at Involved Consulting, a boutique advisory firm, spending nearly five years building out the Activist Defense practice. He and his team offered a comprehensive suite of services built to support companies facing activist pressure.

Prior to Involved Consulting, Mr. Dwyer spent five years at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch where he worked in the Activist Shareholder Services division and built the platform for activist investors to use BAML’s full suite of banking services. During this time, he worked on capital markets transactions and was instrumental in driving cross-divisional revenue.

Mr. Dwyer studied economics at San Jose State University. He was awarded the President Services Award by the White House in 2010 and 2011 for his work as Treasurer for Habitat for Humanity.
