Mitul Shah is a Senior Director with the Transaction Advisory Group in Mumbai. With more than 14 years of experience in Indian mergers and acquisitions (M&A), Mr. Shah’s areas of expertise include client / financial sponsor relationships, advising clients on evaluating strategic options and / or growth capital requirements, assisting in the preparation of detailed business plans with a focus on appraising business drivers to facilitate M&A, reviewing legal agreements and evaluating different financial proposals.

Mr. Shah has worked across a range of industries, including consumer, food, food ingredients, agriculture, media, hospitality and private equity, and has provided corporate finance services to more than 50 clients.  

In addition, he has advised several domestic and multinational corporations on M&A, including cross-border transactions, joint ventures, divestitures and private equity placements.

Mr. Shah’s notable engagements include raising structured finance for Smaaash Entertainment Private Limited, a leading virtual gaming company, sale of the food ingredients business of Kushalchand Sons to IMCD, Netherlands, sale of Unify’s India business (enterprise communications) to Progility, and advising Prabhat Dairy in raising private equity funds from Rabo Equity and Proparco.

Additionally, he has advised  Fem Care Pharma Limited on the sale of its equity stake to Dabur India Limited and on the sale of ‘Genteel’ and ‘Swastik Shikakai' to Godrej Consumer Products Limited; advised Hikal Limited on the divestment of Bremer Pharma Limited, the animal healthcare division in Germany, to RFCL; advised Zoom Entertainment, a television broadcaster, raising private equity funding from Merrill Lynch; advised ABP TV Private Limited on the dissolution of its joint venture with Star India in the general and regional television news category; and  advised Sangli Bank Limited on its amalgamation with ICICI Bank, a diversified financial services institution.

Before joining A&M, Mr. Shah spent eight years with KPMG India Private Ltd. driving the consumer markets and TMT initiatives for the corporate finance team.

Mr. Shah earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce and accounting from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics and an MBA from Saunders College of Business (RIT), Rochester, NY.
