Michael Wojtasek, a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal, specializes in corporate strategy development and execution. He has over 15 years of experience assisting clients in the identification, prioritization and execution of growth opportunities including mergers and acquisitions, organic growth initiatives and operational cost improvement.

Mr. Wojtasek works with companies across multiple industries including energy, building materials and various manufacturing sectors.

Since joining A&M, Mr. Wojtasek has helped numerous clients bring clarity and discipline to complex, integrated projects. His representative engagements have included developing and managing the five-year strategic planning process for a $7 billion construction company across 30 operating units, including the development and prioritization of key initiatives to support growth and capital budgeting /scheduling.

Additionally, Mr. Wojtasek coordinated the integration of a multi-billion dollar acquisition including refinery and retail gasoline assets for a Fortune 100 client. He delivered regular communication updates to the client executive steering committee and facilitated the closure of critical issues. Mr. Wojtasek also developed a business case and executed a plan to vertically integrate proppant supply for a large exploration and production (E&P) client, creating over $50 million per year in value to the company.

In another engagement, Mr. Wojtasek created a corporate development playbook for a large infrastructure construction company, which included standard tools to assess target opportunities and execute the integration of acquisitions. He led a rapid supplier sourcing cost reduction effort at a $20 billion E&P company, driving over $500 million in savings despite rapidly declining activity levels. Mr. Wojtasek also managed functional carve-out activities for various clients in the oilfield services and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) industries.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Wojtasek served as a senior financial analyst for a large semiconductor manufacturer. In this role, he executed the financial budgeting and planning processes for the company’s flagship factory and drove strategic cost reduction opportunities. Mr. Wojtasek also served as a process engineer, where he specialized in lean process improvement, shop floor productivity enhancement and cost reduction.

Mr. Wojtasek earned an MBA from The McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
