Mr. Marcos brings more than 23 years of diverse financial, operational, transactional and analytical experience within the healthcare and chemicals industries. He specializes in fixing and improving the operational and financial performance of his clients.
Mr. Marcos has advised on a variety of operational, financial, sell-side, buy-side and leveraged buyouts across several sectors including skilled nursing, assisted living, home health and hospice, healthcare IT, managed care, post-acute care and pharmaceuticals.
He improved the operational performance of CareOne a leading skilled nursing home chain and post-acute care provider in the North East. Operational improvements included better cash collections, reducing staffing levels, and management of non-labor expenses.
Mr. Marcos served as an adviser to the Board and Federal Court for Sunwest, one of the largest assisted living company, which was awarded Turnaround of the year by TMA. He also served as an adviser to the Unsecured Creditors Committee for Integrated Health Services, Inc.
Mr. Marcos advised on a senior living restructuring, including negotiating loan restructurings and settlements with non-compliant lenders; developing and implementing cash management and liquidity improvement tools; divesting non-core assets; and cutting overhead by about $50 million through reductions.
He has served as the CFO and an adviser to several regional and national healthcare companies.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Marcos was a Director with the Healthcare Investment Banking group of CIT. Previously, he was an Executive Director with Eureka Capital Markets, where he provided financial advisory services to public and private middle-market companies on valuations, mergers, acquisitions and private placements of both debt and equity. Prior to his investment banking career, he was a Manager with the Commodity Chemicals Division of Mitsubishi.
Mr. Marcos earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies from George Washington University and an MBA in finance from New York University. He has also completed studies at Universidad Antonio de Nebrija (Nebrisensis) in Madrid, and he was a licensed NASD General Securities Registered Representative (Series 7 and 63).
