He brings deep experience in corporate finance and business transformation. His primary areas of concentration are in business restructuring, M&A, integration and carve-outs. Mr. Castro has worked with clients across a range of industries, including consumer goods, retail, chemicals, banking and automotive.
Most recently at A&M, Mr. Castro served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to a private equity (PE) portfolio company in Brazil. He was responsible for addressing short-term cash flow needs, managing key stakeholders (i.e. creditors, suppliers, banks and employees), challenging the existing business model, implementing profitability measures, executing positive organizational changes, and reorganization of processes (i.e. budget, internal controls, 13-week cash flow) and people (i.e. replacements, roles & responsibilities, new incentives to sales).
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Castro led the M&A and Divestment department for Vale S. A. He began his career as an Auditor with Arthur Andersen in Brazil and later served as a Consultant with the United Nations in Geneva working as a link between funding agencies and small to medium enterprises in Africa and Asia. Additionally, he has held various positions across segment leading institutions such as UBS (Switzerland), LVMH Group (France), General Mills (Switzerland) and the Dutch electronics manufacturer, Philips (Brazil).
Luciano earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from UNA Business School in Brazil and a master's degree with honors in international management from the HEC Lausanne, Switzerland. A Brazilian national, he is fluent in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.
