His primary areas of focus are international finance business solutions, strategic and operational change management, financial control, reporting and business performance improvement.
With expertise in developing and managing multi-site, international finance operations for multinationals, Mr. Keenan has a strong record of successfully driving change, innovation and process improvements.
Recently, he acted as interim CFO for Pearson ELT, a division of Pearson PLC (a FTSE 100 multinational publishing and education company). A global publisher of English language teaching materials, Pearson ELT operates in over 100 countries through books, online and multi-media programs. Mr. Keenan assisted with a large-scale reorganization, creating new financial-management information reporting and dashboards for its international operations, while strengthening its control environment and enhancing bottom-line profitability / working capital.
Mr. Keenan was key to developing the ELT product roadmap, bringing together and liaising with product development, technology and marketing leaders to formulate and quantify the financial impact, CAPEX and investment requirements of future product / service needs as the business offering transitioned across print and digital platforms.
Before A&M, he started his career with Ford Motor and most recently held the position of International and EMEA Controller for Willis and Marsh & McLennan respectively, managing regions with revenue in excess of $1 billion across 30+ diverse countries. Previously, as finance director and controller, he was pivotal in establishing the U.K. and Ireland finance operation for General Electric’s Energy division, a $1 billion global renewable and developed energy business.
Mr. Keenan has led change-management programs and the restructure of multi-site finance operations, talent-managed global teams across multi-country regions with more than $1.6 billion in revenues, including the streamlining of finance activities to deliver operational efficiencies, performance improvement and cost savings.
He has established and implemented controllership and governance models and restructured statutory and internal compliance frameworks for complex groups and multi-legal entity structures internationally. He began his career with BDO in Scotland.
Mr. Keenan earned an honors degree in finance and accounting from the University of Stirling. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Scotland. He has dual U.K. and Irish nationality.
