Ms. Poulos has extensive experience acting for a variety of stakeholders in corporate restructurings and insolvency mandates in the public and private sectors, a number of which have involved cross-border and international complexities. Ms. Poulos has worked with clients across a range of industries including insurance, hedge funds, financial services, retail, agriculture, infrastructure, real estate and construction, transportation and logistics, manufacturing and automotive.
Prior to joining A & M, Ms. Poulos was with a Big Four firm where her notable engagements included acting as financial advisor to The Canadian Wheat Board; Monitor in proceedings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act of Interwind Corp., a renewable energy developer with several large solar and wind projects; bankruptcy trustee of MF Global Canada Co., a leading Canadian futures broker with assets of $400M+; court-appointed Receiver of Portus Alternative Asset Management Inc., a registered portfolio manager and limited market dealer, involving 26,000+ investors and multiple jurisdictions; court-appointed administrator of Riviera on Queens Quay, a twin-tower, waterfront, residential condominium development with over 500 units in Toronto; interim receiver and bankruptcy trustee of TCT Logistics Inc., a public-owned corporation, and its subsidiaries in the supply chain management business with over 31 million cubic feet of warehousing capacity and one of the largest transportation fleets in Canada; and Liquidator of Confederation Life Insurance Company, one of the largest life insurance companies in Canada with over one million policyholders.
Ms. Poulos earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce (honours) from Queen’s University. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant, a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional and a Canadian Licensed Insolvency Trustee.
Ms. Poulos is a member of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals and has served as the Vice-Chair of the Association’s Corporate Practice Committee. She is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation. Ms. Poulos also serves as a mentor in the Queen’s University Women in Leadership Mentorship program.
