Hector Duran

In his most recent engagement, Mr. Duran led the integration and IT strategy alignment of the finance and accounting function for a number of acquisitions by a client in the construction industry. In this role, he managed the relocation of people and processes from acquired companies to the home office and aligned the new business units with the parent’s IT strategy and operations, including the deployment of the clients’ core ERP and key technologies to improve financial reporting and financial and accounting processes, and simplify the IT landscape.
Mr. Duran has led numerous turnarounds for distressed programs, including an SAP implementation that included HR, payroll, accounting, purchasing, operations, sales, billing and tax modules. He led an accounts payable remediation project to reduce invoice backlog from 18,000 to 1,600, improve on-time payment from 68 to 98 percent, and improve time to post for payment from 27 days to just five days – delivering all improvements within six weeks. Mr. Duran has also delivered SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics and PeopleSoft solutions for clients in various industries.
In addition, Mr. Duran has assisted energy and manufacturing clients expand operations in Mexico and has served as interim CIO for clients established in Mexico.
Prior to joining A&M, he was a business process manager at Microsoft, where he spearheaded its business performance management strategy. Earlier, he served as a senior manager with KPMG and Arthur Andersen, where he helped clients in Central Texas improve technology and overall business operations.
Mr. Duran earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from the Universidad Autonoma De Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
