For a global construction company, he led the turnaround of a troubled SAP implementation project that included HR, payroll, accounting, purchasing, operations, sales, billing and tax modules. This included the restructuring of the project team, taking over the leadership of the project’s PMO, and management of all third-party vendors supporting the efforts. The system was implemented successfully, on time, and within budget. Mr. Duran has also delivered Oracle and PeopleSoft solutions for clients in various industries.

He has served as acquisition integration leader assisting a Fortune 500 company in the energy industry integrate two major acquisitions. Mr. Duran coordinated all integration activities across the various business teams, assisted with developing a transition services agreement, reviewed IT needs for all areas, and planned all activities for “Day 1” operations.

Mr. Duran served as the leader in an accounts payable remediation project assisting an energy client resolve critical problems and drive improvements to processes and technology. Within six weeks, backlog invoices were reduced from 18,000 to 1,600, unresolved exceptions were eliminated, paid on time metric was improved from 68 to 98 percent, and received to posted-for-payment was improved from 27 days to five days.

Mr. Duran has assisted U.S. companies in expanding operations in Mexico, as well as serving as interim CIO for clients already established in Mexico. In this capacity, he helped clients in the energy and manufacturing industries.

Before A&M, he was a business process manager at Microsoft, spearheading their business performance management strategy. Earlier, he served as a senior manager with KPMG and Arthur Andersen, responsible for helping clients in Central Texas address technology and business needs.
