Guy Sansone is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in New York, where he serves as Chairman of the firm's dedicated Healthcare Industry Group, which he founded in 2004. He brings more than 25 years of experience working as an adviser, investor and senior manager of troubled and underperforming companies.

Currently, Mr. Sansone serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, a 125-year-old organization that operates an $850 million provider business (home nursing and hospice) as well as a $1.2 billion health plan.  Before working for the Board of VNSNY, Mr. Sansone advised the Board of Hospital Management Associates (HMA) in an evaluation of a potential transaction with another major investor-owned hospital system.  Mr. Sansone also served as Interim President of LifeCell, a portfolio company of Apax Partners and a sister organization to Kinetic Concepts.

Mr. Sansone's additional experience outside of the healthcare industry includes telecommunications, distribution, shipping, drilling, real estate and financial services.  During his career at A&M, Mr. Sansone has served in a variety of other major operating roles, including Chief Restructuring Officer and Board Member of the Erickson Retirement Communities.  He was also the Chief Implementation Officer to the Saint Barnabas Health System, the second-largest employer in New Jersey, where he orchestrated a $120 million operating turnaround.  From 2005 through 2007, Mr. Sansone served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Restructuring Officer at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers in New York, leading the organization through a successful Chapter 11 reorganization.  Previously, he was interim Chief Financial Officer of HealthSouth Corporation and a member of the leadership team that facilitated the company's successful out-of-court operational and financial restructuring after the announcement of HealthSouth's $2 billion accounting fraud.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Sansone served as Senior Vice President of Integrated Health Services, Inc., as well as President, Co-CEO and board member of Rotech Healthcare, Inc. 

During his career at A&M, Mr. Sansone has served as both a strategic and operational adviser to companies such as Sunrise Assisted Living, Regency Healthcare, CBL Pathology, CCS Medical, Brandywine, Southern Care and numerous not-for-profit acute care hospitals.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Sansone spent four years managing and investing in distressed companies and other special situations, including management of Presidio Capital Corp., the post-bankruptcy successor to Integrated Resources, Inc.  In this role, he specialized in evaluating the cash flow and performing due diligence on a number of portfolio distressed debt, leveraged buyout and venture capital investments.  Mr. Sansone also served as an Accounting and Auditing Manager with Deloitte & Touche, LLP, where he focused on large publicly-traded and troubled companies.

Mr. Sansone earned a bachelor's degree from State University of New York at Albany.  He serves on numerous investor-owned and not-for-profit Boards of Directors, including Private Health Management, BMIQ and The Ursuline School, and is sitting President of Pelham Country Club.  Mr. Sansone also currently serves on the Board of Civitas Solutions (CIVI), a public company in the human services sector, and is a member of the Compensation and Audit Committees.
