He brings more than 22 years of experience in both line management and management consulting – including large material cost reduction programs, supply chain optimization, operational restructuring and interim management (CRO and CPO roles). He has served clients in a wide range of industries, including automotive (OEMs and suppliers), high tech, aerospace / defense, telecommunications, household appliances and steel manufacturing.
Currently at A&M, Mr. Vrbica is managing a global product readiness program for a global high tech OEM.
Before joining A&M, he was a senior director at AlixPartners, serving as a core member of their European automotive and operations / procurement practices. His assignments included program management of material cost reduction programs for General Motors Europe/Opel and for Audi, CRO for Metalsa BU Hinges and Transmissions, interim CPO for Wincor Nixdorf, supplier capacity management for Volkswagen and for Borg Warner Turbochargers, program / ramp up management for NEEF (Volkswagen “UP!” product line), engineering performance management program for Airbus, interim CPO for DASELL, purchasing performance improvement for PFW and due diligence for the major European aerospace and defense OEM.
Previously, Mr. Vrbica held a line management position at Volkswagen Group. He was head of purchasing strategy, cost- and supplier management, reporting directly to the board member responsible for purchasing. He also managed a material cost reduction program (ForMotion Material Costs) for all brands in the Volkswagen Group (over €80 billion purchasing volume).
Earlier, he worked as a management consultant at A.T. Kearney and CSC Index, focusing on supply chain optimization and business process re-engineering in the steel, chemical, telecom and household appliance industries. Besides serving corporate clients, he also worked on a major assignment for the Privatization Agency of Slovenia.
Mr. Vrbica earned a Diplom-Kaufmann in business administration from Ljubljana University and participated in a student exchange program with the Indiana University Business School in the U.S. He is fluent in German, English, Slovenian and Serbian / Croatian.
