Before joining A&M, Mr. Bertolina served as Chairman and CEO of the Selcom Group, an Italian company that develops and manufactures electronic solutions for a variety of industries, with production sites in Italy, Tunisia and China. In this role he has successfully completed the operating and financial restructuring of Selcom, including a change of control by a new shareholder and a financial agreement (art. 67) with lenders. Under his leadership, Selcom has improved sales (+17%) and EBITDA (+82%).
Prior to this, Mr. Bertolina was CEO of Italtel, a well-known company (leader in EMEA for softswitch) in the telecom industry, with an international portfolio of customers that includes telecom operators and large enterprises. Before taking this responsibility he was the CEO of Enterprise Digital Architects, the Italian subsidiary of Damovo Group, where he managed a deep reorganization and downsizing.
As a board member of Pilosio S.p.A. (scaffoldings and formworks), he managed an assessment and performance improvement project, holding a CRO position until the appointment of a new CEO.
Previously, Mr. Bertolina held various senior positions in the Marconi Group, including Chairman and CEO of Marconi Southern Europe and South America. He also served as a member of the Executive Team of Marconi plc. He was involved in the restructuring of the Marconi Group and actively drove the relaunch of the business in the geographies under his responsibility. Being part of the group of top management, Mr. Bertolina contributed to the positive conclusion of the acquisition by Ericsson in 2006.
Mr. Bertolina began his career with the Olivetti Group controlling department. He was a subsidiaries controller for a large European company, CFO for Europe, and North and East Europe Area Manager. During his tenure in Olivetti he was involved in acquisition deals, headcount reduction programs, business development initiatives and the turnaround of several organizations.
Mr. Bertolina also served as Board Member of Lottomatica S.p.A. and Avio S.p.A. and has been a member of the Executive Board of Unindustria Genova.
Mr. Bertolina earned a bachelor’s degree from Università di Torino in Italy and an AMP (Advanced Management Program) from INSEAD. An Italian national, Mr. Bertolina is fluent in Italian, English and French, with a working knowledge of Spanish.
