Mr. Poggendorff brings over 20 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement and his primary areas of concentration include the identification and realization of cost reductions. He has worked with international clients across a range of industries, including health care, banking and automotive, among others.
Mr. Poggendorff spent 10 years as a line manager and 10 years in international consulting firms. His procurement and negotiation skills built over time and at the Schranner Negotiation Institute Zurich have delivered significant savings for his clients.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Poggendorff was the Head of Sourcing and Procurement in dwpbank, a “systemically important bank,” that is tightly monitored by BaFin (Federal Financial Supervisory Authority). At dwpbank, Mr. Poggendorff was responsible for designing and implementing a new sourcing and procurement organization. He is familiar with very strict regulatory requirements, IT security guidelines, risk and compliance regulations in the financial services industry.
Mr. Poggendorff also worked for 10 years in international consultancies including Deloitte, Accenture and Management Engineers (now Strategy&). He served as Project Manager for a diverse range of international sourcing projects at companies including BMW, Pfizer, Daiichi, Swarovski, Deutsche Bank, Erste Group, and Finanz Informatik and served four years as a Purchasing Manager at SIEMENS AG primarily focused on strategic sourcing and eProcurement activities.
Mr. Poggendorff earned a Diplom-Kaufmann in Business Administration from the University of Marburg in Germany, during which he undertook an internship for 6 months in Vietnam with BAYER AG. He is fluent in German and English.
