Erik Hedin is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Private Equity Performance Improvement practice in London.

Mr. Hedin brings over 15 years of experience in finance, performance improvement and strategy implementation and has worked with clients across a range of industries including live entertainment, industrial goods and private equity. His primary area of concentration is driving value creation in the intersect of finance and strategy for private equity sponsored companies.

Most recently at A&M, Mr Hedin acted as interim country CFO in developing a five-year business plan for a live entertainment business which effectively improved the investment approval process and drove business results.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Hedin spent nine years with Luvata Group, a €2.5 billion international manufacturing and engineering company backed by private equity sponsor Nordic Capital, where he most recently served as Divisional Chief Financial Officer. He successfully led the Heat Transfer Solutions Division from refinancing and performance improvement through to a structured auction (exit) process resulting in a $400 million carve-out. He catalysed the strategy implementation effort yielding +8 percent sales improvement and +28 percent EBITDA uplift. He also led a cost efficiency programme driving operating margins by 120 basis points. During this period, Mr Hedin managed a highly leveraged balance sheet through a full business cycle, requiring close liquidity management.

Mr. Hedin started his professional career with over five years in management consulting in Stockholm, Sweden and Boston, MA. As Manager, he advised industrial clients on product strategy, working capital efficiency and IT systems implementation as well as private equity clients on commercial due diligence and IT due diligence.

Mr. Hedin earned a master's degree in industrial engineering and management from Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden) as well as a bachelor's degree in economics and finance from Gothenburg University (Sweden). As part of his studies, Mr. Hedin attended exchange studies at ETH Zurich (Switzerland), UTS (Sydney, Australia) and Haas School of Business (Berkley, CA). A Swedish national and U.K. resident, Mr. Hedin is fluent in Swedish and English and is proficient in German.
