Douglas Womer is a Senior Director with the Alvarez & Marsal Healthcare Industry Group in Phoenix, Arizona.

He brings more than 30 years of health care experience which spans an array of senior financial / operational executive level responsibilities. He has worked in acute care hospitals, including academic, for-profit and not-for-profit medical centers, long-term care (LTAC/SNF/nursing home/hospice), outpatient facility and large physician group operations.

Most recently at A&M, Mr. Womer participated on a team at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio. He was responsible for overseeing the financial recovery initiatives of the System and provided insight as to how the System could maximize its operational efforts leading to excellent financial gains.

Mr. Womer’s experience includes extensive work in the academic medicine arena including serving as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for The Johns Hopkins Medical Services Corporation (an entity within The Johns Hopkins Health System) where he led initiatives in detailed financial analysis, reconciliations and reporting. He also served at University Health in cooperation with the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, LA where he directed the conversion of two hospitals from public to private entities, and at Howard University where he worked directly with the Dean of the Howard School of Medicine to relocate campus-based physician care to off-campus, more community-oriented space.

Additionally, Mr. Womer served as the CFO for Cardiovascular Consultants, a 55-physician cardiology practice in Phoenix. He delivered operational/financial improvements including improved GPO savings and restructured debt to more appropriately meet the growth of the practice.
Mr. Womer has also served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Sound Inpatient Systems, Regional Vice President for Sisters of Charity, Incarnate World Health Care System (Christus), and Corporate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at EPIC Healthcare Group (43 hospital system Dallas, Texas).

Mr. Womer earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Gettysburg College and an MBA from the University of Baltimore. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
