With more than 30 years of experience across a wide range of industries around the world, including Automotive, Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, Transportation and IT, Dietrich Schmitt has a strong record in strategy consulting and transformation / change management as well as day-to-day operations.
Mr. Schmitt worked with clients such as Daimler, Lufthansa, Unilever, Kao Corporation, Heineken, Carlsberg, Knorr Bremse and Electrolux and served them in various countries.
He has led many transformation projects, such as the re-designing of a global order process and several PMI initiatives for a leading automotive company; the transformation of the sales and manufacturing organization in one of the largest CPG companies as well as one of the largest white good companies; the implementation of various SAP ERP systems in different CPG / beverage companies and the automation / virtualization of an IT-infrastructure (HW / SW / Storage) for a global Tier2 automotive supplier.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Schmitt served in Unisys as VP, as Managing Director of Unisys Germany and as Head of Consulting in Central / Southern Europe. He had an operational and a change management role and led various strategic projects, which included the transformation of Unisys in Germany from a technology-led to a service-minded company. He was responsible for a multi-million business in various countries which included technology, consulting and outsourcing.
Prior to this role Mr. Schmitt was a Partner in Deloitte and served as European Co-Head of Deloitte’s Consumer Business practice. This included CPG and beverage companies such as Unilever, Kao Corporation, Carlsberg and Heineken etc. on a global basis. He managed many process reengineering initiatives, various performance improvement projects in sales, marketing, supply chain and manufacturing as well as several SAP-implementations and multi-national roll-outs.
He has a deep knowledge of ERP–systems, especially SAP and cloud technologies.
Mr. Schmitt earned a diploma from the University of Stuttgart. He is a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany and other industry groups. He is well known in the German marketplace due to various publications and speaking at major industry events.
