Denis Picard is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in New York. He specializes in technology and operations performance improvement and leading organizations through complex change. His primary areas of concentration are IT strategy and effectiveness; complex program and change management; strategic cost reduction; and mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. He brings deep experience in leading change to improve customer service and financial performance.

With more than 25 years of leadership experience and an approach that emphasizes accountability and business results, Mr. Picard has advised senior executives executing major business transitions at Fortune 500 companies, worked as a senior executive to lead change at private equity portfolio companies, and built high-performing organizations.  He has worked with companies in a broad range of industries, including healthcare, financial services, business services, and consumer and industrial products.
Mr. Picard’s experience includes leading organizations through successful, enterprise-wide change initiatives.  Representative assignments include providing leadership to accelerate successful post-merger integration and corporate divestiture initiatives, leading organizational change to reduce disruption during and after large-scale IT implementations, and leading performance improvement initiatives to achieve sustainable margin improvements.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Picard served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for two portfolio companies of Kohlberg & Co., a leading private equity firm. He served as a member of the executive leadership teams in each company, and transformed each companies IT function while supporting strategic business changes and operational improvements to improve cash flow. Mr. Picard was previously a partner with the consulting and business advisory practices at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Mr. Picard earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Northeastern University and a master's degree in operations management from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the IT Financial Management Association and the Dean’s Advisory Council at Northeastern University.
