Mr. Park has more than 20 years of experience in both corporate line management and consulting, in Asia and the U.S. and Europe. Mr. Park’s primary expertise lies in turnaround and post-merger integration, in both distressed and growth situations, in wide array of industries including retail / consumer goods, finance and manufacturing.
Mr. Park most recently was CEO of Galleria Department Store Group, Korea, a two billion premium retailer in Korea. During his three-year tenure, Mr. Park led a full-scale restructuring effort including cost reduction, shut down and reopening of the flagship store, as well as identifying and executing new growth engines (online, China and duty-free license acquisition).
Previously, Mr. Park served as senior management of a GE Capital joint venture for seven years, as head of credit card business and CMO of consumer finance portfolio.
In addition to corporate management, Mr. Park has nine years of management consulting experience at McKinsey & Company. Mr. Park worked in diverse industries including manufacturing, telecom, consumer goods and automotive. He also served in multiple leadership positions, as head of Asia Pacific Product Development Practice, core member of Global Automotive Practice, and founder / head of Operations Practice in Korea.
Mr. Park served as the lead figure in multiple organizations in transition. His expertise includes first 90-days planning, initiating early wins, and building short to long-term strategy and vision.
Mr. Park has deep expertise and successful cases around customer-centric initiatives. His expertise area includes new product development (from concept design to execution & promotion), branding (BI, CI and ATL/BTL promotions), and CRM / customer analytics.
Mr. Park has executed multiple floor operation improvement initiatives, including purchasing, design-to-cost, lean manufacturing and pricing.
Mr. Park earned a M. Phil degree in international relations from the University of Oxford (St. Antony’s College) and bachelor’s degree in political science from Seoul National University, Korea. Mr. Park is fluent in English and Korean, and has studied Japanese for seven years.
