With four decades of experience, Mr. Scouler has advised a broad spectrum of clients, and their stakeholders, across multiple industries including natural resources, retail, manufacturing, distribution, sub-prime lending, entertainment and technology. Mr. Scouler is recognized for his work as an expert witness on insolvency and reorganization matters and for providing testimony on a broad range of issues including the creditors’ motion for the appointment of a Chapter 11 Trustee, reorganization plan feasibility, business plan viability, valuations and the reasonableness of select transactions.
Mr. Scouler has served as Interim CEO of WW Holdings, Interim CFO of NUI Corporation, and as the CRO for Communication Dynamics, Inc., Wherehouse Entertainment, Mortgage Lenders Network and Universal Building Products. Additionally, he has been the Receiver Manager of Fishery Products Ltd and the Financial Advisor to the United Steelworkers in the Wheeling Pittsburgh bankruptcy, the senior lenders of Mercury Finance, the senior lenders of Safety Kleen and the senior lenders of Asyst Technology.
Mr. Scouler’s notable and industry-award winning client assignments include Contessa Premium Foods, Rhythm & Hues, the Oscar winning animation studio, and Hot Dog on a Stick, a quick-service restaurant chain.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Scouler was the founder and CEO of Scouler & Company, a boutique turnaround and restructuring firm headquartered in Los Angeles. Before founding his own firm, Mr. Scouler was a Senior Managing Director at FTI Corporate Recovery, the crisis management subsidiary of FTI Consulting, Inc.
Mr. Scouler earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Western Ontario, Richard Ivey School of Business. He is a Canadian Chartered Accountant.
