Dan Kim is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Performance Improvement practice in Seattle. With more than 10 years of consulting and interim management experience, he specializes in technology strategy and complex program management.

Mr. Kim advises clients on developing and implementing product roadmaps with an emphasis on building partnerships between business and IT operations.  

He currently serves as a Senior Technology Advisor at a large family foundation bringing for-profit expertise to the social sector. In this internal consulting role, he has served on 100+ engagements over three years, impacting investments totaling over $700 million. Notably, Mr. Kim has developed and led execution of the strategy development methodology for multiple technology-forward portfolios in global health and global development.

Previously, Mr. Kim served two years as a Site Engagement and Implementation Manager for a platform as a service (PaaS) organization. In this role, he assisted state education agencies and pilot districts to create a solution architecture and structured adoption plan to utilize the organization’s cloud infrastructure and services.

During his tenure with A&M, Mr. Kim has focused on IT transformation programs assisting clients across e-Commerce, healthcare, utilities and financial services sectors to better organize, deliver and drive cost out of their business. His experience includes overhauling program management functions, developing  IT governance models and providing hands-on project leadership roles for critical initiatives.

Other noteworthy engagements include marketing for an enterprise-level mobile device, business process mapping for an ERP implementation, technology selection for a retail point of sales system and analyzing IT cost reduction opportunities in contingent workforce staffing.

Mr. Kim earned a bachelor’s degree in both finance and economics with a minor in mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
