With a focus in financial services, he has led multiple large scale transformations, often with a multinational scope that included the Americas, Europe and Asia. In addition, he brings experience from the healthcare, industrial services and building materials sectors.
Currently, Mr. Friis is helping clients navigate the business opportunities and risk management challenges arising out of regulatory change along with the associated data and analytics requirements.
In addition to current focus, notable achievements include: leading a corporate banking growth initiative that increased cross-sell of cash management services to clients by 50 percent; serving as lead business architect on the re-engineering of a major mortgage bank that was followed by a successful IPO; driving a global revenue enhancement program for a financial services company that generated $600 million in new revenues within two years; and serving as interim CEO, directing the successful recovery of a distressed $500 million company.
Before A&M, Mr. Friis served as U.S. financial services lead for Peppers & Rogers Group. Other roles include: VP at ITOCHU International with responsibility for strategy, M&A and business performance improvement, U.S. banking practice head for PA Consulting Group, managing director with HighQuest Partners and managing director at Citigroup, including two years in a role as their global innovation director. He began his career at Accenture.
Mr. Friis earned an MBA from Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA (Valedictorian), a BS / MS in economics and finance from the University of Copenhagen and a BS in international business from Copenhagen Business School.
He has held teaching positions at the University of Copenhagen, Institute of Economics and The Danish Banking Association’s Training Center. He is the founder of Citi Network, the largest independent global Citigroup Alumni network (45,000+ members). In addition, he is chairman of the New York chapter of the Royal Danish Guards Association.
