His industry experience is diverse, reflecting board or management advisory assignments for clients engaged in the business of asset management, banking, consumer products and services, healthcare, hospitality and lodging, manufacturing media/telecommunications, natural resources, retail specialty chemicals, and technology. He also has extensive experience advising clients involved in significant corporate events on their executive compensation and human capital issues.
Mr. Gentry brings over 20 years of experience, which includes serving as a lead advisor for some of the most prominent executive compensation and human capital consulting firms, as a senior human resources leader for a global Fortune 50 diversified industrial company, and an S&P 500 financial services company.
His blend of senior leadership experience is unique among consultants, as is his track record of success in solving some of the most challenging executive compensation issues of the past 20 years. He also has served as speaker on the topic of executive compensation at numerous events focused on the needs of corporate directors, C-level executives, and human resources leaders. Finally, he has served as a contributing author on incentive design to Aligning Pay with Results: Compensation Strategies That Work from the Boardroom to the Shop Floor (AMACOM/Risher, ed.) and The Compensation Handbook 6th edition (Berger, ed.).
Bill earned degrees in business and economics and in history from Randolph-Macon College and Virginia Commonwealth University. He also earned an MBA from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA.
